A bunch of emails and questions have rolled in about how exactly we feel about Blizzard and how it relates to PvPGN.

Well here it is, I cannot speak for everyone that works on the PvPGN projects around the world, but I do speak for the majority feeling:

-- What we don't believe in:

Piracy of any kind, including Warez, loaders, Cracks, Cheatz etc.  If we believed in these things, we could say them.  This our own website, our own server.   We are not bound by content rules etc.  We don't have to be pro or anti anything.  If we wanted to allow people to download loaders, we could.  Our ISP isn't going to come after us for any thing of that nature.  Blizzard could try to sue, or send us some demand for removal, however, we don't have or support these kinds of things because we don't believe in them.  It's that simple.

Battle.net.  We do not believe in Battle.net.  Besides lag (which for the most part has been much better over the past year), Battle.net has rampant cheaters, lacks functionality, and generally does not work behind NATs and or FireWalls.  Blizzard is trying to build in a tournament function into WC3x.  If they do this only on Battle.net, its useless to us.  Also, the NAT/FW thing... Blizzard claims you can play WC3x with multiple players behind a NAT... well, in some cases this is true, as long as you don't want to play with anyone that is on your lan, or as long as you use a FW with loose UDP etc.  Blizzard's claim about NAT/FW fucntionality is straight up crap, and until they fix these kinds of things, there will ALWAYS be people trying to create a better way. 

We do believe that you should purchase the games you play.  Blizzard or not, purchase the games you play.  The money partially goes back into development of newer and better games.  Of course, some of the money goes to sue people, and help support other pieces of the business that aren't doing so well (VIVENDI) but still, do the right thing and buy the game.
